Rachel Roupp is a poet from the mountains of Pennsylvania. She graduated from Mansfield University in 2017 with a BA in English Literature. Rachel just completed her MFA in Creative Writing at Chatham University. She was awarded Best Thesis in Poetry. Her poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in Crab Fat Magazine, Chantwood Magazine, Komorebi Literary Magazine, Mind Murals, Persephone’s Daughters, Honey & Lime, Rust + Moth, and Rag Queen Periodical, where she served as the Social Media Coordinator.
Rachel won 1st place in the 2017 EAPSU poetry contest for her poem “Seamstresses.” She was also the recipient of the 2017 Bernie Koloski Book Award for Outstanding Achievement in American Literature and the 2016 Ann Mabe Book Award for her work in Women’s Studies. Rachel was also recently awarded the 2018 Sigma Tau Delta Eastern Regent Scholarship.
